Interactive portfolio

I really liked the be-bop jeans website;all the bright colors and all the movement the page had it was interactive and efficient though some places where difficult to see but other than that i loved the page and its interactiveness.

I also liked the Havaianas website it was also very colorful and interactive i liked how well things loaded they would have interesting mouse movements and things that made waiting a lot shorter. i also like how everything was related the menu bars where flip flop straps.

for my web page I would like to have the theme of street and  

My symbol

Culture: Irish, German, english and italian at heart
Intrests: Sports:soccer,basketball,broomball, riding, art, cooking, music, fashion,
intravert, love to be outdoors,

My symbol is a combination of all of this list. The symbol I designed shows my love of nature with the floral shape and the green which is also a symbol of my irish background. I made my symbol to be like celtic art the symbol has no begining and no end.

My Symbol

Symbol: Symbols are representations of one thing that means another.
Culture: A group of people that share the same beliefs and values.

 The egyptain eye is a symbol of the sun God also known as Horus or The udgat.The gold in the symbol represents the sun and the part branching from the eyelid is actually the egyptian symbol for sun.

Ancient Chinese symbol the Yin-Yang symbolizes harmony and balance, darkness and light , male and female, Good and Bad. The Representation is very clear with the balance of the opposites and how they are equal and never ending in a circle.

The pentagram was used by the followers of the Greek mathematician Pythagoras and by astrologers and necromancers in the Middle Ages. Together with the sign of the cross, it came to be used on doorways and thresholds as a charm to keep away witches and evil spirits, and it still continues to be employed by occult societies. The pentagram should be formed without a break in the drawing.

An irish symbol of loyalty, friendship, and love. When on a ring the crown facing outward may mean that your in a relationship and when the crown faces down the heart is faceing outward and open to people.  the Crown represents taken and the open heart means single open to a new relationship.

                                                    Universal symbol of love, affection, spiritual, moral and emotional. The shape of the human internal organ. The feeling of love and affection comes from our internal core(heart) hence the shape of the symbol.

                                        

                                           Symbol of remembrance:poppy a poppy is a symbol of all the soldiers we lost in war they were barried in flanders field where the poppies grow and prosper.  

all the symbols that i have chosen are all similair in that they are circular and their shapes . they are simple shapes with two or more uniform colours.

Enviromental entropy

What I like about this image is that it is very clear and I really like I I made the my life graffiti showing that the statues life is the court and he can no longer play on it because the ground is unstable I also like the caution tape wrapping around the statue because it also shows his ability to no longer play the sport he loves.




What I don’t like is that in areas of the image are really dark it helps set the mood but it is to much in places so that you can’t clearly read the text. The sign is sort of hidden or shown less significantly than I wanted.



If I had more time I would add images of people playing basketball in a ghost like way I would also make the sign stand out more so that my message was more clear.

Sound Sculpture

-I like sounds from nature(wind, birds, water, other animals.) they make me feel relaxed . I also like action sounds or soft windchimey sounds like ding , ching, or splosh. i also like culture music sounds like bollywood bongos or jugley sounds and beachy sounds

- these sounds can be found outdoors in forests and other animal habitats.
-Objects that i like with these sounds are water, glasses, spoons,or birds, bongos

The Fish bowl sound sculpture- i like the idea of this sculpture but i think that it should be more interactive and more versitile it should have different sounds and movements i would add somthing more unexpected for the sounds.

I like the Car sculpture because each vehicle makes a different sound and movement but the images could have been done alot better and the images could have been more artistic and realistic.

I really like the sounds in the multiple circle interactive peice, they make you feel relaxed almost like if you went to a spa the sounds you would hear. I also like how all the circles are constantly moving and have different movements when you click on them.

IDEAS
- I could have a totem pole in the middle of the screen in a jungle background and fire you could click on the different levels of the totem pole where you will tell a story like a totem pole is supposed to each having different sounds and changed images that provoke different emotions like fear, comfort, peace like natives believe the animals symbolize.  (ex. Bear totem could produce a scream or growl which makes you feel sad and maybe the totem level would show sratch marks and fall apart.)

- I could have a dream catcher or charm braclets that when you click on them they give a different scene like what the charm means to you.

- I could have an i-pod that allows you to choose different songs the songs will play and a mood will be created by an image based on the beat and rythym of the song. I could use lyrics from the song to better describe the emoition.

- nature scene poloution is dropped when you click on the bottles and wrappers sounds of animals and destruction are produced to make you think of  how poloution is affecting the animals.

- there could be an earth spining with different green and non green  productso or green things to do on the outside when you click on the green products somthing is added to the earth and it produces a happy soft gentle sound and when you pick a product that is bad for the enviroment the eath radically changes and either blows up or somthing dies this sound will be loud and prevoke un happy emotions.

- pumpkin carving each time you clickon the pumkin somthing happens the faces change and give of the different sounds of emoitions you have when you remember being a kid and carving




I chose to make the sound sculpture of world music, what i like about my sound sculpture is that it's interactive and the photoshopping i have done looks pretty good :) ! I really like the final portion of my video when you can click on the different image and get a different sound i like how its a symbol of how we are connected all around the world by our similairites and differences in music. This is why I like that you can combine all the sounds on the page to make one united symhphony of world intruments. I also like how i used Gods hand to show him giving us all the gift of music.


What i don't like about my sound sculpture is that it is slightly borring, I also don't like that when the sounds pop up, when the flags are being shown there is no real pause. I would have liked to show a longer glimpse of the flags and the sound clip. if i had more time  i would add more to it like more sound and more cultural instruments. i would also fix the flags and maybe ad an interactive map.

-look at obeseity and point out that you are the one who is eating burger king food "have it your way"

This is the article that I created but found that it wasn't as strong as my coca-cola ad so i changed my idea.

COCA-COLA -(Open Happiness)
Human Rights Abuses: violent killings, kidnap and torture, water privatization, health violations, and discriminatory practices I cose to create an ad on coca-cola's in humane practices. The slogan for coca-cola is open happiness so i decided to change it to open the inhumane and in the backgroung i have words Hunger, Abuse, Poverty, Kidnap,Violence, Neglect, Torture, Segragation, Discrimination my plan was originally to leave the words like shown the red letters spelling the word happiness making a contrast in the word happiness but this didn't work because it was too difficult to see other more prominent features of the ad.
What I like about my Image is that it looks like an actual ad it incorprates the coca-cola slogan in the background and  i like the overall mood of the image.Its a bit of a twist from the original open happiness the colours are alot colder and darker giving off a more depressing, sad mood. i like the overall message that my image portrays.

What i don't like about my image is that it could have been put together more creativley so that the eye could move more also i don't like how my droplets and puddle turned out they arn't as strong as i wanted them to be , i wanted the droplet and puddle to look like the coke bottle was crying discretly.

If I had more time I would have made the pulle and droplett stand out and i would ad more images to better clairify the message i have conveyed. I would have added more cool colours to deepen the overall mood of the image.

Reflection

What i like about my protest poster is that the message is very clear and i did a good job getting the images to pop out  and grab the viewers attention

What i would change about my image would be to make the image more visually dynamic and place the different objects in a more creative way.

What i don't like about my image is that i was not able to show the issue in depth i just skimmed the surface of an ocean **

3D

An issue that I would like to show in my 3d image is the depletion of shark populations. shark fin soup is a very popular comodity in some countries a bowl can coast more than $100.00. So there are more shark poachers than ever. some areas shark hunting is illegal but that dosn't stop people. Some people while making millions believe that they are doing the world a good deed getting rid of one of  the oceans deadliest preditors. Deadly, and dangerous these are just steryotypes given to sharks because of movies like 'Jaws' and 'Red Water'. One video that does sharks good is the documentary 'Shark Water' I was made aware of  how important sharks are to the cycle of life and how close the shark population has come to extinction. I want more people to become aware of this issue like the man who made he documenary. He has made this issue known world wide .

My alter ego is somone who is happy with themself knows that they will be good at anything they try . My alter ego is also someone who doesn't care about what other people think and is a very exciting person.

Reflection:

How does this image show your alter ego? The image shows my alter ego in that it is very colourful, shows i am outgoing, the image also shows that i am confident with the poleroid of the lion in my hand. The image also shows part of my personality now by the shadow of my confident side i put this shadow in the image to portray my shyness, hiding behind my alter ego.

What aspect of your image do you find most successful and why? I found that the message of being outgoing and confdent was the most sucsessfull, because i added so much warm colour it makes you feel happy and exhuberant. I like how your eye moves around the page.

If you could do this project again, what changes would you make to improve it? If i redid this assignment i would add more symbols of my personality now so that i could shw both sides of me. i put in some of my dreams but they are sort of hiddden like the map... you can't even see the map anymore unless you look very closly at the background in the alter ego polaroid.
